Freedom to Surf service hits the depths

We had been a happy customer of Freedom to Surf for around 4 years, until some months ago when they were taken over by Tiscali.

However even we were shocked at the rapidity of the decline since then. And of course the downturn was not only in the quality of the service, it's a downturn in their business morals too.

If you are paying Freedom to Surf for a business connection, as we had been, you might be surprised to find out that they no longer offer a business service, but cater exclusively to the home user market.

Nothing wrong with that of course, except that you will still be paying for the business connection that you used to have, while the actual service you now have will be a low-end home user connection.

And of course, no-one at F2S will have told you, since their policy appears to be "keep taking the money" - for a service that they no longer even supply. And if you tell them that you would like to move to another company - their sister company Nildram is recommended - they are happy to let you go. But it will mean ten days of downtime, according to their support desk, a claim that might well be accurate but is massively in breach of current OFCOM regulations.

And sadly it appears too judging by the increasing volume of bad reviews, their sister company Nildram, which once had a great reputation, now seems to be struck by the same malaise.

You have been warned.
